Uncovering Stories, One Connection at a Time
Welcome!
I am so excited to finally flip the switch on our new website. For the past 25 years, I have been jotting down notes of what I hoped someday would become the narrative of some of the most amazing stories. Now that I have officially retired from the corporate world (you know, that gig that paid the bills), I can begin to follow my dream of helping people solve their mysteries and putting together the pieces of their puzzle we call life.
Beyond the TV Reunions
When people hear about finding lost families and reunions, they may think of one of those shows that have been popular on TV the past few years. Where the person helping with the search gets an unlimited budget and resources and flies all over the country to interview and meet the parties involved. Then everybody gathers in a beautiful location where, after a few commercials, we get to see the tearful reunion. And it all happens right in front of us in less than 60 minutes!
I would never downplay those beautiful stories. I never miss an episode, with tissues in hand. But these are only a few of the thousands of cases solved every year. Whether it is reuniting adopted children with siblings and birth parents or finding family and friends that want to reconnect, Volunteer Search Angels work thousands and thousands of hours and with no fanfare when solving these cases. No lights, no cameras, and no music, but still a story to be told.

So get in your comfy chair and relax. I love and welcome your questions and feedback. Let me know what topics and pointers you want to hear more about.
Welcome to my world!

An American Hero’s Wish
The Stand Down Event aims to connect our community with homeless veterans, working to dismantle the barriers that keep our heroes on the streets. This initiative, rooted in the philosophy of providing a “hand-up” rather than a “hand-out,” relies on the dedication of countless volunteers, businesses, and numerous local, state, and national organizations.I was thrilled

Never underestimate your abilities.
In late 2015, after taking a brief hiatus, I decided it was time to take on new cases. One case that caught my attention involved a young woman who was searching for her brother, born in Paris, whom she believed had been brought to the United States as an infant. If you’ve followed my work

When you’re having a bad day, find your purpose. A BOGO Reunion.
Have you ever had one of those days where everything you touch goes horribly wrong? You might even find yourself thinking it would have been better if you had just stayed in bed. Unfortunately, that wasn’t an option for me on this particular day, so instead, I decided to seek out my purpose for the

Across the Ocean
Reunion assignments can range from taking just a few minutes to several weeks. During this process, I often feel a deep connection with the families who open up and share their most personal thoughts and experiences. This week, I completed a unique search for a young man in the Philippines.Matt, a 25-year-old college student, was

Where the smallest details can make a difference.
Today, I wrapped up a week-long search for Brenda Goldstein (all names and places have been changed to protect family privacy). It all began on one of those nights when I felt particularly focused on myself, and I recognized the need to do something kind for another person. I visited one of my favorite websites

A way to start Thanksgiving Day
Just before midnight on Thanksgiving Eve 2012, I decided to check one of my favorite sites dedicated to helping families connect. I thought how incredible it would be to reunite someone with their family just in time for the holiday. As I browsed, I came across a post that had been made a few days

What are the chances?
As I navigated through the few websites I rely on to find my next case, I stumbled upon a post from a woman searching for her birth mother. Following my usual routine, I conducted a preliminary search. I tend to pass over names that are too common, like Smith or Jones, but this situation tugged

The 24-hour Rollercoaster
It all began last night when I stumbled upon a post from a woman we’ll call Joan, who was searching for her mother and sisters. Curiously, none of my fellow Search Angels had commented or responded to her plea. At first, I didn’t realize that the poster had misspelled her mother’s name, which made it

A late night quickie….yeah right.
As my dear husband settled down for the night, I assured him I would join him shortly. “Are you working on a search?” he asked. Naturally, I was. At this time of year, the sense of urgency grows stronger. Family is incredibly important, and tonight’s request was no exception. A grown woman, terminally ill, was

I guess this would be called a Search Angel Trifecta!
What a night… or should I say morning? It all began at 8 PM when I planned to simply check my email. To my surprise, two new cases reached out to me, asking for help. Of all nights to be needed, I had promised a work acquaintance that I would search for her late husband’s

Doing the Bedtime Happy Dance
I’m absolutely thrilled right now—I can hardly sleep! Just last week, I received a heartfelt request for help from a woman searching for her boyfriend’s father. His father had been absent for over 25 years, having last seen him when he was just a baby. After moving away, the mother took him with her, and

Happy Heavenly Birthday JP
Today marks what would have been JP’s 76th birthday. I only learned about him two weeks ago, and it wasn’t until yesterday that I discovered he passed away in 2009. For the first time in 76 years, his eight siblings are able to remember him as the child born on this day, June 27, 1948,
