Just before midnight on Thanksgiving Eve 2012, I decided to check one of my favorite sites dedicated to helping families connect. I thought how incredible it would be to reunite someone with their family just in time for the holiday. As I browsed, I came across a post that had been made a few days earlier— a woman searching for her son, whom she had given up in 1991. She included his first and middle names, date of birth, and the names of his adoptive parents. Amazingly, just ten minutes into Thanksgiving, I was able to locate her son! I wanted to scream and dance with joy, but I was the only one awake. I’ve sent a message to the mother, and I can’t wait for her to read her email! Happy Thanksgiving!
